Two of the shows feature super-producer Marley Marl and one with Marleys’ regular stand-in Chilly Q. You’ll hear three World Premieres from the Fat Boys, Divine Force & the Skinny Boys and as well as the spine-tingling references Magic makes to being tuned into the State of Fresh, the hair on the back of your neck might stand up if you catch the IDs for Rap Attack Exclusives, and the iconic OH MY GOD I Think I’m Having a Rap Attack moments. There are some of those 30 minute music sweeps they referred to as the All-Star Classic Mix, and there’s even one of those old promos Marley produced dissing DJ Red Alert. There are golden era classics from Latee, Public Enemy, BDP, a Derek B Remix of Rakim, Word of Mouth, Rob Base, DJ Cash Money, Schoolly D, True Mathematics and many many more, and there are many memorable mic break moments like when the Juice Crew World Tour at the Devils’ Nest gets a mention, and when Magic gives a shout to the now legendary ‘DJ Riz the White Wiz out in Canarsie’ for getting ‘back to school’ ! LULZ
The recordings come courtesy of the widely respected Bristol graffiti artist Turoe, Canadian DJ supreme Jason Armitage and legendary NY radio archivist Johnnie Freeze, so TRUMUNGANOID shouts to them. And to Johnny Juice who did the cuts on True Mathematics, and of course the White Wiz out in Canarsie’ !
