Pete Rock 2

From 27 years ago this weekend, a recording of the Capital Rap Show. As well as the great music from that Summer night, there’s a short interview with one of the greatest Hip-Hop acts on the planet, from when they were still building beats in The Basement [and still known as DJ Pete Rock and Corey Luv] !

Westwood Capital Rap Show - 12 July 1991 Feat Pete Rock & CL Smooth Interview

There are a couple of pauses on this, but overall it’s dope. Tracks from Ice Cube, Cookie Crew and Comptons Most Wanteds’ 2nd LPs get aired. There’s a World Premiere of a Jazzy Jeff production by Monie Love, and there are cuts lifted from the soundtracks to Boyz N the Hood and Livin Large. Keep an ear open for a promo only track from the Outlaw Posse dissing fellow UK Rappers the Cash Crew.
